We’re putting carers first this week! It is important that as many carers as possible throughout the borough know about the service which has been a lifeline for myself and many other carers to date. I used counselling to help me cope with the emotional issues and to talk to someone outside my family with whom I didn’t want to share my darkest thoughts. The Carers Support Project provides free counselling sessions for carers throughout Rhondda Cynon Taf in their centre in Rhydyfelin on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursdays and at Cancer Support RCT in Mountain Ash Tuesdays (10am – 1pm). These sessions are open to any carer, not just those affected by cancer. Past carers are supported up to one year from the date they stop looking after a loved one. Sessions can be face to face or by telephone. To access the service and to find out more simply ring the freephone CarersLine 0808 100 1801. |
